Colostrum collection kit

$21.99

Harvesting colostrum before Baby comes is a great way to help prepare for parenthood. These kits I’ve put together make it easy for you.

The kit includes

  • Sterile syringes, with caps - all in sterile packaging so you know they are safe. Caps are great to use for syringes to prevent unwanted bacteria getting in, and to lower the risk of spills. They are oral syringes, too, the ones with the slightly pointed end (no luer lock), which makes it easy to feed straight from the syringe (and impossible to accidentally stick into an IV cannula).

  • A little 30mL/1oz medicine cup with a lid! Keep the colostrum in the cup in the fridge as you add to it through the day. The lid, while not completely airtight, helps prevent losing all that lovely colostrum if you (or someone else) accidentally knocks it over!

  • Enough labels for one for each syringe - easy to keep it safe in the fridge/freezer at the hospital (if you have a hospital birth) and not get accidentally given to someone else!

  • Step by step instructions by a CLC (that’s me!) on how to hand express your colostrum. With pictures. I can’t really mail you a video on how to do it so clear written instructions with pictures is the next best thing.

Why buy my kit instead of someone elses?

You can buy whichever colostrum kit you want, there’s lot of nice fancy ones out there. Mine is not fancy, it’s very basic and it has everything you need to express colostrum safely. There’s no beautifully customised packaging, in fact, the boxes I’m using to post them out in have been sitting in my craft room for literal years, so you’re helping reduce landfill. My kits are also cheaper than many others I have seen.

It’s also just me here packing and choosing everything - support small queer business! (Wait I lie, if the photos are nice, my wife probably took them for me).

Contents:

  • 5x 1mL sterile syringes with cap

  • 5x 3mL sterile syringes with cap

  • 5x 5mL sterile syringes with cap

  • 1x medicine cup with lid

  • 15x labels

  • Written instructions for hand expression and safe storage

Important:

Please note not everybody is successful expressing colostrum antenatally, but please remember this is not indicative of your future milk supply!

Also consult your pregnancy care provider (doctor or midwife) before expressing any colostrum before Baby comes.
