Work with me!
For general inquiries about inclusive infant feeding and lactation support please fill in the contact form below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
I don’t really want to fill out a contact form. How else can I talk to you?
That’s not a problem at all. Here is a list of other ways to contact me:
Email me directly at: hello@themilkroute.au
Or send me a message on one of my social media platforms:
Please note that while I am available to be contacted at any time, I can’t always reply immediately.
If it is an emergency, please call 000 or go to your nearest hospital or urgent care clinic.
If it is an immediate lactation/chestfeeding/breastfeeding concern, please call the Australian Breastfeeding Association Hotline on 1800 686 268. They are a free service available 24/7 and also have an online chat option during certain hours.
Frequently asked questions

Please see my services page here for details on what I can do for you. We can also discuss a customised service if required.

I am a Registered Nurse, but I am NOT endorsed to prescribe any kind of medication. I can help you treat mastitis symptoms conservatively, and if it gets to the point where I believe antibiotics are necessary, I will refer you on to your GP (general practitioner/Doctor).
-
No. I am a Registered Nurse (Australia) and Certified Lactation Counsellor. I have completed 95 hours of lactation education with Australasian Lactation Studies and I also did the Healthy Children Project’s online Lactation Counselor Training Course. I take my continuing professional development seriously and am constantly updating my knowledge. See details of my education here. I also have extensive personal experience.

I have low or no cost options available, please use the contact form or email me direct on hello@themilkroute.au for more details. There are some stipulations but I will not ask for your financial records as proof.

Of course you can. I serve everyone! My special interest lies in my Queer community, but that doesn’t mean I can’t or won’t help allies like you!

It would be unethical of me to tell you anything you eat will increase milk supply. The best idea would be to book a session with me where we can do a full investigation to try to identify the root cause of your low milk supply and then work on ways to increase it. There is unfortunately no one magic pill or superfood that will do it.

Yes - I know exactly what it’s like. I can travel to you depending on your location, or we can arrange a virtual consultation.
-
Send me a DM on Instagram and you can vent to me all you like! I can just listen, provide support, or help with solutions - whatever it is you need.

First of all, I would never make fun of anyone’s body for any reason. And second, I take privacy very seriously. You can read my Privacy Policy here (link) but basically, if I see Susan in the street and she asks about your nipples, I’ve never met you before (and there may be a small lecture about sticking your nose in other people’s business to Susan).
Hi, I’m Emma~
After Emma gave birth and decided they absolutely were not made to be a midwife, they really wanted another way to serve the queer families in their community. Pretty soon after they embarked on their own infant feeding journey, they just knew this was it. It was an unexpected deep special interest, and now they are ready to share their personal - and professional - experience with lactation and other options for infant feeding with their community.
(Emma has a special focus on queer families, but wants to serve all kinds of families, however they look like! If you are a cisgendered, heterosexual person, some of the questions in The Milk Route’s intake forms may seem a little odd, but please roll with it because it’s how inclusivity works!)
See more about me and The Milk Route here, or enquire by filling in the contact form above.
